DESIGN OF CAKE:
1. The Sugar Brook will follow your requests closely to create the exact cake desired, as discussed and agreed upon in the email exchange at the time of booking.
2. I cannot duplicate an exact copy of another cake artist’s work, but images supplied will be referred to as inspiration.
3. If you give me creative control of the cake, I do not take responsibility for any dissatisfaction with the design. Every effort will be made to discuss design elements with you at the time of booking. No refunds will be issued where creative control has been given.
4. When fresh flowers are included in the design, I will work closely with you and the florist to select the most suitable flowers, as availability, seasonality, and colour variations will vary. The Sugar Brook will not be responsible for dissatisfaction with flowers based on these circumstances. In some cases, I will source high-quality faux florals and seek your approval before using them. In particular in cases where potentially toxic species of florals have been requested.
5. Due to food safety and insurance reasons, only The Sugar Brook is permitted to dress the cake. I am happy to work with your florist to have them supply the florals for the cake prior to the event, or to ensure consistency with floral types or colours being used.
6. The Sugar Brook will not use fresh florals that are known or considered to be toxic when in contact with food. If a requested floral variety is potentially harmful, you will be advised and a suitable safe alternative will be recommended. In some cases, high-quality faux florals will be used to achieve the desired look. This policy is non-negotiable and exists to protect food safety and the wellbeing of clients and guests.
SERVING & AMOUNT SIZES:
1. The serving size is as per the agreed portions discussed and confirmed in the email exchange at the time of booking. A cake cutting guide will be provided at exchange based on these portions.
2. Serving size estimations are not guaranteed to be exact.
3. The Sugar Brook is not responsible for a shortage of cake if the pieces are cut too large.
